Who was John Calvin?

John Calvin (1509-1564) was a French theologian and pastor who led the Reformation in Geneva. His Institutes of the Christian Religion remains one of the most influential works of Protestant theology, and the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions trace their teaching to him.

One pastor who bought it uses it to mark the passage he is preaching from each Sunday.
