What does the Wages shirt mean?

The bill comes due, and every man gets paid. One man is paid for his own works, and that wage is death and damnation. Another is paid for Christ's work, by God's mercy, and that gift is eternal life. The shirt puts the question in front of everyone who reads it: which will it be?
